Step 1:
Check in service automatic updates service is running.
[Right click on my computer . Click on Manage. Click on services]
Step 2:
Run regedit ----explore the below key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ WindowsUpdate \ AU
In the right-pane, delete the two values
AUOptions and NoAutoUpdate
Step 3:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ WindowsUpdate
In the right-pane side , delete the value DisableWindowsUpdateAccess
You can make a change in key value and see the effect in windows update setting.
